
WHAT IS SNOWBNB?
SnowBnB is a one-time install, automated snowmaking system designed specifically for short-term rentals.
It uses freezing temperatures to produce real, ski-resort-quality snow right at your property.
The system integrates with your booking calendar and outdoor thermometer to run automatically, so your guests get a magical winter experience with zero added work for you.
HOW MUCH SNOW DOES THE SYSTEM MAKE?
The SnowBnB system converts approximately 3.5 gallons of water into real snow every minute.
Using an advanced, automated valve system built into our snowhead, the unit is designed for maximum efficiency—turning as much water into snow as possible with minimal waste.
Under optimal conditions, the system can blanket an area roughly 40 feet by 15 feet, producing up to 8 inches of ski-resort-quality snow per hour.
WILL IT WORK AT MY PROPERTY?
SnowBnB is designed for properties where temperatures regularly drop below 32°F (0°C). If your STR experiences freezing temps—even just overnight—it’s likely a fit.
We recommend a minimum snow area of around 20x30 feet (~600 sq ft) for the best visual and guest experience, but we can work with both smaller and much larger areas depending on your property layout.

CAN THE SNOW BE MADE DURING THE DAY?
Yes, as long as the temperature is below freezing. Many of our clients create snow overnight so it’s ready for morning guests—even if the sun melts it later in the day.
IS IT SAFE FOR MY WELL?
Yes. SnowBnB is designed to be safe for all well systems & was engineered with water conservation in mind.
A standard garden hose flows at about 6–12 gallons per minute, depending on pressure.
SnowBnB runs at a much lower rate of just 3.5–4 gallons per minute, and includes selectable run times to minimize water usage and maximize efficiency.
WHAT MAINTENANCE IS INVOLVED?
SnowBnB is built with high-quality, commercial-grade components designed for long-term reliability and performance.
The system requires very little maintenance. We recommend a simple check-up twice a year to ensure optimal operation, especially before and after winter.
HOW LONG DOES INSTALLATION TAKE?
Units are made to order and take 2-3 weeks to build after you order.
Once your unit is built, most installs are completed in a single day.
We’ll coordinate directly with you to make the process fast, clean, and minimally disruptive.
WILL THIS VOID MY STR INSURANCE?
SnowBnB does not interfere with any structural systems and is considered a guest-safe outdoor feature—similar to a hot tub or fire pit.
We’ve already spoken with STR insurance providers, and they’ve expressed no issues with the SnowBnB system. The only concern raised was the potential for a guest to be directly blasted by snow—which we've addressed by designing the snowhead to sit high enough that no guest can stand eye-to-eye with it.
Aside from that, the snow created is treated just like real snowfall from a liability perspective.

POWER USAGE OF UNIT
The SnowBnB system runs on approximately 2,500 watts—less than the average hot tub.
Our system is designed with energy efficiency in mind, delivering high-performance snow production without a heavy power load.
HOW IS SNOWBNB DIFFERENT?
Unlike basic snow machines, SnowBnB is powered by patented technology and built specifically for short-term rentals.
Our system includes a custom-designed PCB board, integrated app, and smart weather station that work together to automate snow production based on real-time conditions.
The weather station continuously monitors outdoor temperatures, while the app syncs with your booking calendar (via iCal) to detect upcoming guest stays.
When freezing temps align with an upcoming booking, SnowBnB automatically activates—creating snow before guests arrive and during their stay (if weather allows).
It’s a hands-off, guest-ready system built to add serious value to your STR.
CAN GUEST TURN SNOW ON/OFF?
No. SnowBnB is fully automated and controlled by you (the owner) through the app.
This prevents misuse and ensures it runs only when conditions are right.
